IDF Council
The IDF is run by a council of 29 elected and co-opted member doctors. A number of Committees feed into council. All council members and committee members work on a voluntary basis.
The President and Chairman are elected by Council and sit for a period of three years. Each council member sits for three years and elections take place annually for the vacated seats. All members are eligible to stand for election and ballot papers are sent out to the membership each spring, with the results announced at the AGM.
Council members whose third year of tenure is at an end must stand down for one year before standing for election again. Council can co-opt members on to council for specific tasks/projects.
